Here we go again, hope everyone has a great year. We’ve got some plans here, new kit, couple of staff changes… more of that later!
Here we go again, hope everyone has a great year. We’ve got some plans here, new kit, couple of staff changes… more of that later!
We are now closed until January 3rd.
Hope you all have a great Christmas!
It’s not just the little jobs we do. Christmas light switch-ons don’t get much bigger than Oxford Street in London, promoted by Heart FM.
We provided a range of branding collateral for the event, from cut out Hearts to “I love the Saturdays” boards that were handed out to the thousands of people that turned up to the event. As with most jobs a quick turnaround was required, without compromising the quality of the print.
As it’s that time of year we’ll be doing more of the same up and down the country with PVC banners, stage branding, directional boards all being produced alongside anything else you can imagine that is needed to stamp a brand’s personality on an event.
One of the most interesting attractions we have worked with in the past couple of weeks is the Galleries of Justice in Nottingham.
The GoJ are based at Nottingham’s old courthouse and gaol and offer free exhibitions, audio & performance led tours and a themed café. All of which delve into the dark and disturbing past of Crime and Punishment.
In support of their upcoming Autumn and Halloween events we have provided them with a range of high quality posters, in ultra-quick time, to be used around the attraction.
We even had a very nice testimonial off Faye who is the GoJ’s Business Development and Marketing Coordinator.
“I recently used Abstract DG for the first time to have some large glossy posters printed. Having never been with them before, I decided to give them a go as their rates were very competitive! The process was very simple and the staff made it extremely easy for me to process my order in a matter of minutes. My posters arrived in protective packaging, enclosed in extra packaging to prevent any damage. The artwork, quality and the design of the posters is the best I have ever come across. Being in Marketing, I have many relationships with printers and designers, but I have to say that Abstract DG are definitely the best. The pictures and colouring were so precise and matched our branding perfectly! A huge thank you to Abstract for their hard work and providing not just a friendly simple service but also for providing a fantastic high quality product! I will definitely be recommending them!”
Always up for a pub-quiz Abstract entered a team into the annual PACE music quiz last Thursday. Held in the unique location of Fazeley Studios in Digbeth we pitted ourselves against another 25 teams from the great and good of Birmingham’s publicity and marketing world.
Despite being a man down for the evening the team managed a creditable finish, without ever challenging for the top prize or the wooden spoon. Although the lessons learned included; always to go for your first answer and never listen to Mark all the time!
All in all a good night, with plenty of money raised for some very good causes, including the University Hospital Birmingham.
It’s easy for any business to plough-on, head-down, working on the day-to-day jobs that come in. We have realised at Abstract that there is more to things than that though. So, we are aiming to do our bit by helping various individuals in the Midlands where we can.
The first of these was Drew Roper, who we helped via the Prince’s Trust.
Drew is the award winning talent behind Yamination Studios, based in the Custard Factory in Birmingham.
Despite being a relatively new start up he has already worked with a number of clients, the most high profile being Luke 1977, the fashion brand. This particular animation, with a voice-over provided by Mark Williams of the Fast Show and Harry Potter fame, used both traditional and cutting edge animation skills to plot the “real” history of denim.
We helped Drew by providing branding for his office and studio space, to create an environment more befitting of a top animation studio. The large foamex panels allowed some in-your-face branding, a photo shoot backdrop and some extra blackout protection, pretty important for a animation studio.
Hello and welcome to our new website.
The aim of this blog is to highlight some of the more interesting jobs we are involved in each month. It’s not just posters we print but a whole range of weird and wonderful requests. Over the past couple of years these have included 6 foot high ghosts, giant advent calendars and branded rubber ducks!
So please keep on eye on the blog to see what we are up to and thanks for reading!
